The 30 year old Frank J. Horgan Water Treatment Plant is one of the largest single water treatment facilities in the Greater Toronto Area. It was only fitting that its expansion project would be equally impressive but in a slightly different fashion. The plant was outfitted with over 3,150 m2(33,900 ft2) of vegetated roof which will help to cool the building, eliminate toxins and air pollution, as well as prolong the lifespan of the roof.
